It's raining. You may have just heard some distant thunder, but the rain is soft enough. You're wearing a light tunic, fur leggings and a cloak with a hood, to keep the rain off of you. Trees are all around you, a dense evergreen forest. Frogs are chirping from somewhere nearby.

There's a path that stretches to the north, it's barely a path at all, just a dirt track and a thinning of the underbrush, but does indicate a direction you might travel through the forest. To the east you can hear a river, perhaps or a stream. Surely this is where the frogs might be coming from. Which way would you like to go?
